Vinny Messana of Axcess Baseball 

Vinny has been a partner with GNYSAA with the Mike Leiderman Cup since its infancy and we are so grateful of all that he does to promote youth baseball thru events and his website axcessbaseball.com which is a social network exclusively for the baseball community. Axcess baseball provides game coverage, feature stories, in-depth scouting reports and rankings.

Vinny is a 2013 graduate of Adelphi University where he received a degree in Journalism. Prior to that, he attended Farmingdale State College where he pitched for two years for the Skyline Conference Champs and is second in program history in K/9. Upon graduating from Adelphi, Vinny began a blog called Baseball on the Island, now Axcess Baseball, which covers amateur baseball on Long Island from the youth level, to high school and all the way to college. They have been recognized by the Press Club of Long Island for outstanding journalism work. In addition to covering games, they host tournaments, showcases, a home run derby, they co-host the Leiderman Cup and also an annual Awards Banquet. Vinny is an associate scout for the San Diego Padres where he helps identify high-level players that could potentially play at the next level. He is currently married and has a daughter, Isabella.
